Microsoft ha avviato il rilascio, in due fasi, di una serie di novità per i Report di utilizzo dei siti SharePoint Online (SharePoint Usage Reports).
Il primo blocco di novità, in rilascio entro la fine di gennaio 2021, comprende una serie di nuove metriche da utilizzare nei report correnti; mentre la fase 2, che scatterà dal 19 febbraio 2021, arricchirà ulteriormente le metriche e introdurrà il principio dei siti e dei contenuti “attivi”.
Il processo di rollout sarà chiaramente a livello di intero Tenant, ed i report sono e saranno accessibili agli utenti con i ruoli amministrativi:
- Global administrator,
- Global reader,
- Reports reader in Microsoft 365,
- Exchange administrator,
- SharePoint administrator,
- Teams Service administrator,
- Teams Communications administrator,
- Skype for Business administrator
Personalmente considero estremamente utili questi report per valutazioni complessive sull’utilizzo e sull’adozione dei siti SharePoint, anche se purtroppo i soli 180 giorni di retention dei dati limita decisamente la profondità storica delle analisi o i confronti di periodo per la misurazione dei delta.
I report permettono anche di eseguire drill-down sui singoli utenti, per le organizzazioni con meno di 2000 utenti, mentre è necessario eseguire l’esportazione in Excel .csv per filtrare i comportamenti dei singoli utenti nel caso l’organizzazione comprendesse più di 2000 utenti.

| Pages visited | The number of unique pages that were visited on the site. |
| Root Web Template | The template used for creating the site. NOTE: If you want to filter the data by different site types, then export the data and use the Root Web Template column. |
